MELISSA PRENTKI (b. 1988, NJ) received her BFA in Photography in 2011 from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). She enjoys ghost hunts, the Seventh Seal, and the stories of poets who spent their sabbaticals chasing the dragon.

Melissa has worked a teaching assistant for an advanced poetry class and has prepared written reports and reference materials for visiting historians at the Smithsonian’s Photo History Collection. She currently works as a studio assistant for Conveyor Arts.

She is a Brooklyn-based photographer of portraits and pseudo documentary projects. Melissa pursues the presence of things unseen, but often felt.

Her work was exhibited in the Academy 2011 show at the Conner Contemporary Gallery in Washington, DC.
